Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script by Chen Hongshou was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in July 2020. The price achieved of HKD 68,750.00 (€ 7,532.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Hongshou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Seven Sages Of The Bamboo Grove in March 2012 with an auction result of USD 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,237,813.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script von Chen Hongshou wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 68.750,00 (€ 7.532,49) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Hongshou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Seven Sages Of The Bamboo Grove im März 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.650.500,00 (€ 1.237.813,11).
