Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Chen Hongshou achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy Couplet In Clerical Script sold for HKD 187,500.00 (€ 21,430.97) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Hongshou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Seven Sages Of The Bamboo Grove in March 2012 with an auction result of USD 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,237,813.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chen Hongshou erzielte im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Clerical Script für HKD 187.500,00 (€ 21.430,97) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Hongshou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Seven Sages Of The Bamboo Grove im März 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.650.500,00 (€ 1.237.813,11).
