In the Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings and Watercolours auction, the work "What are the wild waves saying?" Florence and Paul Dombey from Dombey & Son, by Charles Dickens changed hands for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,699.98) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Other works by Charles Wynne Nicholls have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2003 by the work "What are the wild waves saying?" Florence and Paul Dombey from Dombey & Son, Charles Dickens at GBP 8,962.50 (€ 12,879.60).
