Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
The work Tenerife Landscape; View of Tenerife; Rock Formation, Tenerife; Rocks At Rosel By Jersey; And Tenerife Landscape 2 by Charles Williams was worth GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,362.17) to a buyer in January 2008. This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 800.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Charles Williams; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot View of Openshaw And Clayton From The Studio sold at auction in January 2008 with the realized price of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,702.72).
