The »bidding war« ended at GBP 812.50 (€ 1,089.19), 63% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Williams have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of Openshaw And Clayton From The Studio in January 2008 with an auction result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,702.72).

Die Arbeit Cornish Rocks; Coastal View; Low Tide, Margate; And Evening On The Beach von Charles Williams wurde im Januar 2008 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 812,50 (€ 1.089,19) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Williams auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View of Openshaw And Clayton From The Studio im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 6.702,72).
