This artwork by Charles Williams achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in January 2008. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Brookside Valley, Macclesfield; A Staffordshire Lane; And Meg Lane, Sutton, Macclesfield sold for GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,508.11) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Williams have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of Openshaw And Clayton From The Studio in January 2008 with an auction result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,702.72).
