Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work On The Way To The Festival by Charles William Wyllie for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 30,574.13). This price was achieved in the auction British & Irish Art at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles William Wyllie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Backwater, which sold at auction in September 2019 for GBP 62,562.00 (€ 70,593.80).
