This artwork by Charles William Andrews achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in March last year. In the Travel & Exploration auction, the work Paguil Laguna de Bay, Manila sold for GBP 7,012.50 (€ 8,314.11) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles William Andrews have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Parade Ground, by Murray Barracks, Hong Kong, with horses paraded along Queen's Road, the cricket ground and a view across the harbour to Kowloon beyond in September 2007 with an auction result of GBP 38,900.00 (€ 55,779.74).
