In October 2015 Christies in London held the auction Topographical Pictures, which included the work Three studies of Filipinos by Charles William Andrews. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,000.00 (€ 13,987.50), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles William Andrews - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Parade Ground, by Murray Barracks, Hong Kong, with horses paraded along Queen's Road, the cricket ground and a view across the harbour to Kowloon beyond, which sold at auction in September 2007 for GBP 38,900.00 (€ 55,779.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Topographical Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three studies of Filipinos von Charles William Andrews zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 13.987,50) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles William Andrews mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Parade Ground, by Murray Barracks, Hong Kong, with horses paraded along Queen's Road, the cricket ground and a view across the harbour to Kowloon beyond beobachtet, die im September 2007 für GBP 38.900,00 (€ 55.779,74) versteigert wurde.
