Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The First Music Lesson by Charles West Cope was sold in the Victorian & Edwardian Art auction at Sothebys in London in December 2006. The price achieved of GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,714.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Other works by Charles West Cope have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2013 the work The Awakening Of King Lear By The Kiss Of Cordelia was auctioned for GBP 32,500.00 (€ 37,997.57).
