In the Christopher Wood A Very Victorian Eye auction, the work The captive slave sold for GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,557.91) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles West Cope achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Awakening Of King Lear By The Kiss Of Cordelia in May 2013 with an auction result of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 37,997.57).
