Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation, which included the work The First Piano Lesson by Charles West Cope. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,602.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles West Cope - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Awakening Of King Lear By The Kiss Of Cordelia, which sold at auction in May 2013 for GBP 32,500.00 (€ 37,997.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation durch, in der auch die Arbeit The First Piano Lesson von Charles West Cope zur Versteigerung kam.
