Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles Vacher could be acquired at Christies in London in August 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper auction, the work Edfu upper Egypt changed hands for GBP 470.00 (€ 674.80) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Vacher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Fête of The Marriage of The Adriatic, Venice in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 89,036.98).
