Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles Vacher could be acquired at Sothebys in London in December 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Early British Drawings, Watercolours and Portrait Miniatures auction, the work Travellers Before The Pyramids, Egypt changed hands for GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,706.72) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Vacher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Fête of The Marriage of The Adriatic, Venice in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 89,036.98).
