The price achieved of USD 298,000.00 (€ 282,143.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Reading By The Shore is the most expensive artwork by Charles Sprague Pearce that we have observed at auctions so far.
