Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 81,250.00 (€ 76,810.36). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Sprague Pearce - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Reading By The Shore, which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 298,000.00 (€ 282,143.53).
