Auction result well in line with expectations
The work American The Red Kerchief by Charles Sprague Pearce was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Sothebys in New York in February 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,140.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Sprague Pearce achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Reading By The Shore in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 298,000.00 (€ 282,143.53).

Die Arbeit American The Red Kerchief von Charles Sprague Pearce wurde im Februar 2019 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.140,35) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
