This artwork by Charles Sprague Pearce achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year. In the American Art auction, the work Across the Common sold for USD 127,500.00 (€ 116,886.69) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Sprague Pearce - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Reading By The Shore, which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 298,000.00 (€ 282,143.53).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Sprague Pearce erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art wurde die Arbeit Across the Common für USD 127.500,00 (€ 116.886,69) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Sprague Pearce mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Reading By The Shore beobachtet, die im November 2015 für USD 298.000,00 (€ 282.143,53) versteigert wurde.
