Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Important Miniatures from a Private Collection, which included the work Portrait Of Jane Dorothy Lambton by Charles Shirreff. The price achieved of GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,983.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Other works by Charles Shirreff have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2002 the work A young lady called Miss Caroline [..., facing right in lace-bordered white dress with blue detail at right shoulder, white stole draped around her neck, tied blue ribbon in her long powdered curling hair|AID902686] was auctioned for GBP 5,019.00 (€ 7,704.42).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.125,00 (€ 3.983,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden.
