Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Selected Architectural Studies Of The West Bank Of The Passaic River, New Jersey by Charles Sheeler for USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,404.30). This price was achieved in the auction Classic Photographs at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Sheeler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work White Sentinels in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 2,232,500.00 (€ 1,913,024.85).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Classic Photographs bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Sheeler erzielen.
