Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Scandal' A Patinated Bronze Relief, 1930 by Charles Sargeant Jagger was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 157,000.00 (€ 107,512.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Sargeant Jagger have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Maquette For The Driver, Royal Artillery Memorial, 1921-25 in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 422,400.00 (€ 611,205.76).
