Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Pushing Elephants: A Pair of Bookends by Charles Robert Knight. It changed hands for a price of USD 5,760.00 (€ 4,441.36) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Robert Knight - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pushing Elephants: A Pair of Bookends, which sold at auction in September 2005 for USD 18,000.00 (€ 14,927.85).

Im März 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pushing Elephants: A Pair of Bookends von Charles Robert Knight zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 5.760,00 (€ 4.441,36) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Robert Knight mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pushing Elephants: A Pair of Bookends beobachtet, die im September 2005 für USD 18.000,00 (€ 14.927,85) versteigert wurde.
