Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles Philips could be acquired at Sothebys in Olympia in July 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings auction, the work Portrait Of A Gentleman changed hands for GBP 1,140.00 (€ 1,693.16) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Philips achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Group portrait of a family, possibly members of the Vernon family, with a servant, in an elegant interior in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 54,500.00 (€ 68,465.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Philips konnte im Juli 2007 bei Sothebys in Olympia für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings wechselte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman für GBP 1.140,00 (€ 1.693,16) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Philips erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Group portrait of a family, possibly members of the Vernon family, with a servant, in an elegant interior im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 54.500,00 (€ 68.465,52).
