aquatints in colour, 1785, the pair, on wove, good impressions, published by the engraver, trimmed to or just inside the platemark, yet retaining a margin of blank paper outside the subject, a short repaired tear in the upper left of the former, occasional thin spots in the margins on the reverse, some pale foxing; with, by and after, the same hand, the pendant pair La Rixe and Le Tambourin, all four framed

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Noce de Village; Foire de Village, after N. A. Tournay (Inventaire du Fond Français 18e siècle VII, nos. 8 and 10) by Charles-Melchior Descourtis was sold in the Old Master, Modern and Contemporary Prints auction at Christies in London in June 2004. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,151.00 (€ 3,201.33). Other works by Charles-Melchior Descourtis have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 3,346.00 (€ 4,813.20) in November 2004 for the work L'Histoire De Paul Et Virginie, After J. F. Schall (Nevill 121; Portalis & Beraldi I, 8).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Noce de Village; Foire de Village, after N. A. Tournay (Inventaire du Fond Français 18e siècle VII, nos. 8 and 10) von Charles-Melchior Descourtis wurde im Juni 2004 in der Auktion Old Master, Modern and Contemporary Prints bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.151,00 (€ 3.201,33) einen neuen Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Charles-Melchior Descourtis haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.346,00 (€ 4.813,20) im November 2004 für die Arbeit L'Histoire De Paul Et Virginie, After J. F. Schall (Nevill 121; Portalis & Beraldi I, 8) beobachtet.
