In the Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolors auction, the work Two architectural capricci with peasants, musicians and other figures frolicking among classical ruins sold for USD 74,500.00 (€ 57,075.00) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Charles-Louis Clérisseau; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Interiors of a Roman basilica with figures sold at auction in December 2010 with the realized price of GBP 51,650.00 (€ 59,913.84).
