In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work A Capriccio Of Classical Ruins With Peasants In The Foreground sold for USD 40,625.00 (€ 29,906.51) - well above the upper estimate of USD 22,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles-Louis Clérisseau - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Interiors of a Roman basilica with figures, which sold at auction in December 2010 for GBP 51,650.00 (€ 59,913.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 85 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles-Louis Clérisseau erzielte im Januar 2013 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wurde die Arbeit A Capriccio Of Classical Ruins With Peasants In The Foreground für USD 40.625,00 (€ 29.906,51) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 22.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles-Louis Clérisseau mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Interiors of a Roman basilica with figures beobachtet, die im Dezember 2010 für GBP 51.650,00 (€ 59.913,84) versteigert wurde.
