Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction A Living Legacy: Irish Art from the Collection of Brian P. Burns, which included the work A Breton Woman, Knitting by Charles Lamb. The price achieved of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,574.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Lamb - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Fisherman with Pollan, which sold at auction in November 2021 for GBP 27,720.00 (€ 32,545.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion A Living Legacy: Irish Art from the Collection of Brian P. Burns durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Breton Woman, Knitting von Charles Lamb zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.574,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Lamb mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Fisherman with Pollan beobachtet, die im November 2021 für GBP 27.720,00 (€ 32.545,89) versteigert wurde.
