The work Sunny Days by Charles James Lewis was sold in the A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation auction at Sothebys in London in November 2008. It achieved a price of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 28,715.53), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 58%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles James Lewis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Woodland Ramble "When daisies pied and violets blue And Lady-smocks all silver white, and cuckoo buds of yellow hue" - William Shakespeare, Love's Labour's Lost, Act V, Scene 2, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 48,500.00 (€ 67,912.55).
