Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The return of the fishing fleet, Whitby by Charles James Adams was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2002. The price achieved of GBP 763.75 (€ 1,248.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 900.00. Admittedly, works by Charles James Adams have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cattle Warming Themselves On A Summer'S Day; And Wintertime, Cattle By A Fence (Illustrated) in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,801.21).
