Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2008 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures, which included the work Sheltering from the storm by Charles James Adams. The price achieved of GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,727.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by Charles James Adams have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cattle Warming Themselves On A Summer'S Day; And Wintertime, Cattle By A Fence (Illustrated) in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,801.21).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.727,34) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles James Adams auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cattle Warming Themselves On A Summer'S Day; And Wintertime, Cattle By A Fence (Illustrated) im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.600,00 (€ 9.801,21).
