Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Brave Warrior With Quiver And Bearskin by Charles Henry Humphriss for USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,463.74). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Henry Humphriss - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Appeal to the Great Spirit', which sold at auction in December 2010 for USD 43,750.00 (€ 32,971.59).
