Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Appeal To The Great Spirit by Charles Henry Humphriss. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 22,500.00 (€ 20,206.56) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Charles Henry Humphriss have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2010 the work 'Appeal to the Great Spirit' was auctioned for USD 43,750.00 (€ 32,971.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Appeal To The Great Spirit von Charles Henry Humphriss zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 20.206,56) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Charles Henry Humphriss konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Dezember 2010 die Arbeit 'Appeal to the Great Spirit' für USD 43.750,00 (€ 32.971,59) versteigert.
