Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2000 Christies in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work Indian's Appeal to Manitou by Charles Henry Humphriss. Here, the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 10,575.00 (€ 11,079.10). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Henry Humphriss - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Appeal to the Great Spirit', which sold at auction in December 2010 for USD 43,750.00 (€ 32,971.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Indian's Appeal to Manitou von Charles Henry Humphriss zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 10.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 10.575,00 (€ 11.079,10) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Henry Humphriss mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Appeal to the Great Spirit' beobachtet, die im Dezember 2010 für USD 43.750,00 (€ 32.971,59) versteigert wurde.
