In June 2000 Christies in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work Reclining Lion by Charles Henry Humphriss. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,350.00 (€ 2,462.02), 31% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Henry Humphriss achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Appeal to the Great Spirit' in December 2010 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 32,971.59).

Im Juni 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Reclining Lion von Charles Henry Humphriss zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.350,00 (€ 2.462,02) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Henry Humphriss erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Appeal to the Great Spirit' im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 32.971,59).
