In June 2000 Christies in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work Appeal to the Great Spirit by Charles Henry Humphriss. The »bidding war« ended at USD 18,800.00 (€ 19,696.18), 25% above the upper estimate. Other works by Charles Henry Humphriss have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 43,750.00 (€ 32,971.59) in December 2010 for the work 'Appeal to the Great Spirit'.
