Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View of Hastings; Through a Sussex Window; and Church and Barn, Waltham St Lawrence by Charles Ginner was sold in the Brian Sewell - Critic & Collector auction at Christies in London in September 2016. The price achieved of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,171.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Ginner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Corner in Chelsea in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 79,250.00 (€ 97,737.26).
