Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Study For "Rottingdean" by Charles Ginner was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 16,023.95). Admittedly, works by Charles Ginner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Corner in Chelsea in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 79,250.00 (€ 97,737.26).
