Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Capercaillie by Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe was auctioned at Christies in New York in July this year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,764.00 (€ 2,058.05) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Magnani Modena Pigeon (illustrated); Two Starling Pigeons (one illustrated); A Swabian or Starling Pigeon; and A Swabian Pigeon in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 13,145.00 (€ 19,563.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Capercaillie von Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe kam im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.764,00 (€ 2.058,05) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Magnani Modena Pigeon (illustrated); Two Starling Pigeons (one illustrated); A Swabian or Starling Pigeon; and A Swabian Pigeon im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.145,00 (€ 19.563,70).
