The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,040.00 (€ 2,436.12), 70% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Magnani Modena Pigeon (illustrated); Two Starling Pigeons (one illustrated); A Swabian or Starling Pigeon; and A Swabian Pigeon in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 13,145.00 (€ 19,563.70).

Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Magnani Modena Pigeon (illustrated); Two Starling Pigeons (one illustrated); A Swabian or Starling Pigeon; and A Swabian Pigeon im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.145,00 (€ 19.563,70).
