Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles Frederick Buckley could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Figures on a riverside path in a mountainous landscape (illustrated); and View of a lake surrounded by mountains changed hands for GBP 375.00 (€ 453.40) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Frederick Buckley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Great Exhibition, Crystal Palace, 1851 in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 14,340.00 (€ 20,628.01).
