Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Three-Masted Schooner by Charles Demuth for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,615.45). This price was achieved in the auction American Art Online at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Demuth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In The Key Of Blue in December 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,685,000.00 (€ 1,222,875.39).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Three-Masted Schooner von Charles Demuth für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.615,45) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art Online bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Demuth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In The Key Of Blue im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.685.000,00 (€ 1.222.875,39).
