Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Bonhams held the auction CollectionsIncluding The Peta Smyth Collection of Antique Textiles & Tapestries, Selected Items From The Collection of Lord & Lady Flight, and The Contents of Chequers' Attics, which included the work Portrait of Henry St. John, Lord Bolingbroke, three-quarter-length, in Parliamentary robes by Charles d'Agar. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles d'Agar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit [Double portrait of Lady Henrietta and Lady Mary Godolphin, daughters of Francis, 2nd Earl of Godolphin, full-length, the former standing in classical dress with a pink cloak, holding a parrot and a bunch of grapes, the latter
