Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of A Young Gentleman of The Halsey Family, Three-Quarter-Length, In A Green Coat And Hat With A Pink Cloak, Holding A Bow In His Left Hand, In A Landscape, Feigned Oval by Charles d'Agar was sold in the BRITISH PICTURES 1500-1850 auction at Christies in London in November 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,577.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles d'Agar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Double portrait of Lady Henrietta and Lady Mary Godolphin, daughters of Francis, 2nd Earl of Godolphin, full-length, the former standing in classical dress with a pink cloak, holding a parrot and a bunch of grapes, the latter seated in a white dress in September 2011 with an auction result of

Die Arbeit Portrait of A Young Gentleman of The Halsey Family, Three-Quarter-Length, In A Green Coat And Hat With A Pink Cloak, Holding A Bow In His Left Hand, In A Landscape, Feigned Oval von Charles d'Agar wurde im November 2005 in der Auktion BRITISH PICTURES 1500-1850 bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.577,71) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
