Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a boy, half-length, in a lilac coat and red cloak by Charles d'Agar was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2004. The price achieved of GBP 4,182.50 (€ 6,224.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles d'Agar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Double portrait of Lady Henrietta and Lady Mary Godolphin, daughters of Francis, 2nd Earl of Godolphin, full-length, the former standing in classical dress with a pink cloak, holding a parrot and a bunch of grapes, the latter seated in a white dress in September 2011 with an auction result of GBP 61,250.00 (€ 71,15
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Double portrait of Lady Henrietta and Lady Mary Godolphin, daughters of Francis, 2nd Earl of Godolphin, full-length, the former standing in classical dress with a pink cloak, holding a parrot and a bunch of grapes, the latter seated in a white dress im September 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 61.250,00 (€ 71.155,48).
