This artwork by Charles d'Agar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in June 2008. In the Important British Paintings auction, the work Portrait Of The Hon. Thomas Verney (1691-1710) sold for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,800.42) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles d'Agar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Double portrait of Lady Henrietta and Lady Mary Godolphin, daughters of Francis, 2nd Earl of Godolphin, full-length, the former standing in classical dress with a pink cloak, holding a parrot and a bunch of grapes, the latter seated in a white dress in September 2011 with an auction result of GBP 61,250.00 (€ 71,155

Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles d'Agar erzielte im Juni 2008 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important British Paintings wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of The Hon. Thomas Verney (1691-1710) für GBP 12.500,00 (€ 15.800,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00.
