Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hollyhocks And Sunlight by Charles Courtney Curran was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 59,174.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Courtney Curran - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ladies on a Hill, which sold at auction in April 2002 for USD 207,500.00 (€ 230,504.33).
