Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Charles Courtney Curran achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2010. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work A Comfortable Corner sold for USD 23,750.00 (€ 17,461.95) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Courtney Curran achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ladies on a Hill in April 2002 with an auction result of USD 207,500.00 (€ 230,504.33).

In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture wurde die Arbeit A Comfortable Corner für USD 23.750,00 (€ 17.461,95) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 10.000,00.
