Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View of Mount Vesuvius by Charles Caryl Coleman was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 993.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Caryl Coleman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Azaleas And Apple Blossoms in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 2,281,000.00 (€ 1,465,938.30).

Die Arbeit View of Mount Vesuvius von Charles Caryl Coleman kam im November 2017 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 993,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Caryl Coleman erzielen.
