Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Cesina Landscape: Study For "Twilight And Poppies" by Charles Caryl Coleman for USD 48,000.00 (€ 37,403.57). This price was achieved in the auction Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Caryl Coleman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Azaleas And Apple Blossoms in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 2,281,000.00 (€ 1,465,938.30).
