Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Capri by Charles Caryl Coleman for USD 7,800.00 (€ 6,468.73). This price was achieved in the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Caryl Coleman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Azaleas And Apple Blossoms in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 2,281,000.00 (€ 1,465,938.30).
